We regret our policy has changed and we are currently no longer able to offer shipping assistance. We hope you understand and we apologize for any inconvenience. Our budget was diminishing trying to help or honor shipping assistance. By doing this, it was financially burning our budget. Since the change, most stations are willing and able to provide shipping and we have received much support. We ask that stations honor the shipping cost if possible to send or receive gear. Many times we are able to provide pick-up in our local areas near Volusia County and surrounding counties in Florida.
We believe the best things for you to know when packing your shipping, it all comes down to what works best for you. Choose the items that are in best condition first. Decide which carrier you prefer and call them for any questions or for best advice on how to best ship your shipment. For example, a box may have a weight limit. You maybe able to cram everything in one box, but make sure it doesn't exceed a single box weight limit. We have seen donations being packed from organized to just any ole way and it all seems to work. There are reasonable prices from simple carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx depending on how you pack the items.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and that is what we need and want- more pictures of our program at work. While you are packing your shipment to us or when you receive a shipment we ask and encourage you to please take any photos or videos of the process. No matter how small, you are more than welcome to email, text or mail them to us. When you do share with us, please feel free to include any names of your members that are in the photos. We are working on sharing more photos on our site in the future of our program working, we want and need to see your side of our program and we need your help!
Basically its just as easy as shipping your donations to us however works best for you. Once we receive your donations we will immediately let you know they have arrived safely and we'll send you the signed Liability release form from us signed and dated the day your department's donations arrived. From there, they will enter into our sorting process and await their new assignment!
